The Battle of Siquan was an engagement between Cao Cao and Yuan Shao.

After Zhang Yang was assassinated, his officer Sui Gu became a general of Yuan Shao. Cao Cao wanted to attack Yuan Shao shortly before this incident, as Yuan Shao would swallow up the Central Plains if he was apathetic to his growth in power. He dispatched an army led by Yu Jin, Shi Huan, and Cao Ren to attack Sui Gu. The two armies met at Siquan, in the Ji Province. Yu Jin, brandishing his spear, rode into battle and killed Sui Gu in a duel, winning the battle. This drove Yuan Shao and Cao Cao to war.
