Biography[]

Sun Liang was the Prince of Kuaiji, and was Sun Quan's favourite son so Sun Quan named him his successor. In 252, when his father died, Wei invaded Wu, taking advantage of Sun Liang's age. His regent at the time was Zhuge Ke, who successfully defended Wu at Dongxing. Sun Jun replaced him, and Sun Liang had to live under his rule. In 256, he began a revolution that overthrew Sun Jun, and he seized power as emperor. But the new regent Sun Chen quelled Sun Liang's rebellion and deposed him, demoting him back down to being the Prince of Kuaiji, replacing him with Sun Xiu,his older brother. Sun Liang disliked Sun Xiu and attempted to overthrow him in 260,but some people accused him of witchcraft and banished him. He killed himself following this.
